Dancing Social Anxiety Away: How I Became a Salsa Dancer

February 19, 2011

This is a post about me.

Me! Me! Me!

It can also be a post about you if you take it to heart. Read more …

  1. Thank you so much for this post! I’ve wanted to take ballet classes for so long, but my social anxiety disorder has made me much too afraid to actually go for it. So I love that dance has helped you so much. I think this is such a wonderful thing. Honestly, good for you!

    • Thank you Monique!

Facing the fear can be hard, but it’s absolutely worth it. Never lose hope. I believe that you can dance, too.

  2. i love your post, i have my moments too and about the vibe thing i think a whole new post should be written about it, great post!

  3. can you salsa dance or no? if yes can you link video to your salsa dancing? Would posting a video of you salsa dancing show that you are overcoming your social anxiety?

    • Holding the camera while you are on a crowded dance floor, with a woman in your arms … I never tested if it could actually work.

I never had myself filmed either.

      There’s no proof.

      • 🙂 I am so foreign to the subject. please forgive me as I did not mean to impose.

      • The question is legitimate. Now that I think about it, I do appear on a video somebody shot at a party.
If I were to upload it, I would have to seek out all the other people who appear there and ask them for their consent.
        I don’t think I’ll bother.

  4. I call for evidence. Just kidding, of course:) I wonder if all your friends in that video are as happy about being on that film as you are.

  5. I appreciate how considerate of others you are, sir. Sorry if my comments become too much of annoyance. Please let me know when I am crossing the line.
